Actress and comedian Whoopi Goldenberg tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, the symptoms were mild after the return of the ABC talkshow The View which was interrupted by a holiday Monday.

This news is brought to you by the View Twitter account. Joy Behar, co-host, shared in a video that “Since she was vaxxed, and boosted”, her symptoms have been very mild.

“Whoopi unfortunately tested positive during the break. Behar stated in the video that she would be back “probably next week”. She said that Goldberg would be on the show “soon”, so Whoopi will also be there.

All this is happening amid the flurry of Omicron, a novel coronavirus variant that has been sweeping the country.

Clips online showed that the show wasn’t filmed in the usual studio setting as it was two weeks ago. Each host appeared to be conducting interviews remotely as shown in the video below posted to ‘s twitter account. In it, hosts Behar, Sara Haines and Sunny Hostin discuss how COVID-19, Omicron and their holiday celebrations. Each host shared how COVID-19 was a factor in their holiday plans.

People reported that the hosts were filming remotely from their homes. Behar stated that she hoped this would be temporary.
