New joint venture of MG and JSW
Apart from Cyberster, MG Motor is going to expand its portfolio in India in a big way. For this, it has formed a new joint venture with JSW Group. Both the companies will now together make many new cars for the Indian market.
MG’s Halol plant in Gujarat will also be expanded from the current 1 lakh units per annum capacity to 3 lakh units per annum. Under this joint venture, both the companies will together launch a new car every three to four months from September 2024. With this, MG will try to further strengthen its hold in India.
Launch and price estimates
Even though the Cyberster has not been released yet, it is expected to be brought to India by the end of this year. This will be MG’s first electric sports car and with this the company will also strengthen its range of electric vehicles.
There is no official information about the price of this car right now. However, there are speculations that its starting price may be above Rs 40 lakh. Anyway, considering its sporty design and excellent performance, this price seems reasonable. Being one of the major contenders in this market segment, its price can be kept a bit high.
