Luka Modric (Croatian pronunciation: Born 9 September 1985) is a Croatian professional footballer, who plays as an attacking midfielder for La Liga club Real Madrid and is captain of the Croatia national team. Luka Modric was born on 9 September 1985. He has been raised within the town of Modrici that is component of Zaton Obrovacki, a village located at the foot of the south-facing slopes of mountain Velebit located in the northern part of Zadar within SR Croatia, then a republic in SFR Yugoslavia.
