Emotional voices were played in court during the multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard on Monday, with the Aquaman actor pleading with her then-husband to stop calling her a “liar” about her alleged abuse.

Other audio recordings were played to the court, where Ms. Heard was heard crying and saying, “I’m just trying to show the facts.”

In one recording, he says his own security guards told him I was going to “die”.

Ms Heard told the court that she never wanted to have to tell people about the alleged abuse, but asked her to stop accusing her of lying about it.

“I was begging Johnny not to prove to me that I had to sit on this bench and have to sit in front of all of you to prove it and talk about it,” she said.

“I didn’t ask for it, I don’t want to be here. I didn’t want to be there then.

“I was trying to get him to not call me a liar because everything I’ve ever said and everything I’m saying now is true.”

Ms. Heard sobbed on the podium as she said she was trying to force Mr. Depp.

“Just don’t call me a liar. Just don’t say it’s not true because I’m walking proof of it,” he said.

Ms Heard returned to the bench for a third day’s testimony Monday, after a week’s absence, as the trial in Fairfax, Virginia continued.

Mr Depp is suing his ex-wife for libel over a 2018 article she wrote. Washington post where he described himself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse”.
