Antoine Griezmann (French pronunciation: born 21 March , 1991) is a French professional footballer who plays forward at La Liga club Atletico Madrid who is on loan from Barcelona and also for his home club, Barcelona. He is also a member of France the national side. Griezmann is a native of the commune Macon in the department of Saone-et-Loire. His father, Alain is who is a town councillor is from an extended family that comes to Munster, Germany, His surname was originally written as “Griesmann”, before changing to “Griezmann” for social purposes. His mother Isabelle who was a former hospital employee in charge of the cleaning staff is of Portuguese origin, and her dad Amaro Lopes was a Portuguese soccer player who played for Pacos de Ferreira. Amaro Lopes came to France together with his wife Carolina for work in the construction industry in 1957. It was there that Isabelle was born. She passed away in 1992 when his son was just a baby. When he was a kid Griezmann spent a lot of his time with his family in Pacos de Ferreira, Portugal.
Griezmann started his career by playing for his home club Macon. Personal life
Since 2011 Griezmann has been involved in a relationship with Erika Choperena who is an Spanish native from The Basque Country. They were married on the 15th of June, 2017. The couple had the first of their children, a girl named Mia on April 8, 2016. The couple’s second son, Amaro named after the grandfather of Antoine, Amaro Lopes, was born on April 8th, 2019. On the 8th of April in 2021 the couple welcomed their third baby girl, named Alba. This means that all three of the siblings have identical birthdays. Griezmann is Catholic.
His sister Maud was one of the survivors of the attack on the Bataclan theater during November of 2015 Paris attacks.
