The actor recently sat down with WIRED magazine and participated in the iconic part of Google’s most asked question.
During the bit, the 46-year-old filmmaker was asked about the viral ‘Taika Waititi Cate Blanchett meme’. But what is this?
Here is everything you need to know.
Description of ‘Taika Waititi Cate Blanchett meme’
Taika Waititi and Cate Blanchett are the characters of the meme, which has gone viral on social media platforms for nearly five years. It first started in October 2017.
The meme is an image of Waititi and Blanchett on the set of the MCU movie Thor: Ragnarok. In the movie, Waititi plays Korg and Blanchett plays Hela.

The photo also shows Blanchett in her full costume, while Waititi has been seen in casual attire since he also directed the Marvel movie.
In the picture, they’re both looking at the tablet, possibly discussing a scene or rehearsing movie lines. Regardless, the picture instantly turned into a meme.
Funny messages or captions are often added over their images to add a funny effect. It is often used to represent a normal person trying to impress or persuade a powerful entity.
On May 31, WIRED’s YouTube channel shared an 8-minute clip of Taika Waititi answering Google’s top questions about herself.
When he first removed the decal from the wood and was asked about the ‘Taika Waititi Cate Blanchett nozzle’ he initially knew nothing.
“Taika Waititi Cate Blanchett meme, what is that?” she said.
He soon realized that it was a funny meme he had unintentionally put forward.

The New Zealander said, ‘Oh, when I showed him something on an iPad and people were “when your wife came home” and you were like, “Look what’s my score on Wordle.”
He also joked about the viral meme saying, ‘Okay, yes. I had seen him. In fact, that’s exactly how he was on set.”
Waititi also recalled the origin of the meme. I said, “How’s that going to be and I want you to do this and it’s going to look really cool”. Because you will have a giant wolf and an army of zombies.” It’s like (Blanchett) “I could have taken a day off last year”.
