2024 Lok Sabha election dates announced
Lok Sabha elections are going to be held again this year in India. The Election Commission has announced its dates. Voting for these elections will be held in 7 phases starting from April 19 to June 1. The results will be declared on June 4. About 94 crore voters will exercise their franchise in this election.
Voter ID card is mandatory at the time of voting
Voter ID card is very important during the election process. Before going to the polling station, every voter should ensure that he has a valid Voter ID card. Voting is not possible without Voter ID card. Therefore, before voting, definitely check your voter card.
What to do if Voter ID card is lost?
Many times the Voter ID card of voters gets lost, torn or stolen. In such a situation, they have to make a duplicate voter ID card. Let us know how you can easily make a duplicate voter card:
Process to make duplicate voter ID
- First of all go to the website of the Chief Electoral Officer of your state.
- Download Form EPIC-002 from there. This form is for obtaining duplicate voter ID.
Fill this form carefully and add all the required documents. - Also enter the reason for demanding duplicate card in the form. Also add a copy of the FIR if your card is lost or stolen.
Make copies of other documents like passport size photograph, residential proof and identity proof and attach them with the form.
Submit to local election officer
- After filling the form and adding all the documents, submit it to the office of your local election officer.
- Upon submission of the application you will be given a reference number. With the help of this number, you can check the status of your application by visiting the website of the State Election Commission.
Verification process and final check
- Your application will be scrutinized and the information provided by you will be verified.
- This process may take some time. You will be notified when the application is successfully verified.
Get your new card
- After application verification, your duplicate voter ID card will be prepared.
- You can get your new duplicate voter card by contacting the office of your local election officer.
