Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming directorial debut, Mahaan, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 10. This will be Karthik’s second film to follow the OTT path after his last film, Jagame Thadhiram.
Mahaan plays the real-life father-son duo Vikram and Dhruv. It is also a special project for Vikram as it marks the 60th movie in his career. Funded by Seven Screen Studio, the film also stars Simran, Bobby Simha, and Vani Bhojan.
Talking about the film, producer Lalit Kumar said in a statement, “I’m so excited to premiere Mahaan on Prime Video. Karthik Subbaraj has done a fantastic job creating the perfect blend of action, drama and emotion from start to finish. In addition, the film brings the story to our audiences. It has an amazingly talented and wonderful cast of stars who put on excellent performances to make it even more appealing to the public.”
The official synopsis is as follows: “Mahaan is the story of a man estranged from his family in search of personal freedom and wealth. However, as he realizes his ambitions, he misses the presence of his son in his life. After fulfilling his dream of becoming a billionaire, does life give him a second chance to be a father?”
The original Tamil film will also be able to air in Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. In Kannada, the name of the movie is Maha Purusha.
