Vikings: Valhalla is an upcoming Netflix Original historical drama. It was created by Michael Hirst and a spin-off of the popular History Channel series Vikings. The series will be produced by MGM Productions, like its predecessor, which ran for six seasons.

100 years after the events of the Vikings, the end of the Viking age draws even closer as the Kingdom of England stands firm against Scandinavian raiders. After the death of King Edward the Confessor, three lords claim the English throne, forever changing the future of England. Now, the official Netflix page has been updated with a summary as follows:

“The all-new VIKINGS: VALHALLA begins in the early 11th century and chronicles the legendary adventures of some of the most famous Vikings ever – Leif Eriksson, Freydis Eriksdotter, Harald Hardrada and Norman King William the Conqueror. These men and women will light a path as they fight for survival in an ever-changing and evolving world.”

Vikings: Valhalla will have a recurring cast. Here with the role definitions –

Sam Corlett (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) will play Leif Eriksson, a Greenlander who grew up on the outer reaches of the known world. He comes from a close-knit family that adheres to ancient pagan beliefs. A brave sailor and physically tough, Leif is our entry into the Viking world in the throes of drastic change.

Frida Gustavsson (The Witcher) is the fiercely pagan, fiery and headstrong Freydis Eriksdotter. He is a staunch believer in the “old gods”. Like his brother Leif. But she, she arrives in Kattegat as a stranger, but the old ways inspire she.

Bradley Freegard (King Canute), Johannes Haukur Jóhannesson (Olaf Haraldson), Laura Berlin (Normanian Emma), David Oakes (Earl Godwin) will also be in the roster.
