Now, fans are impatiently asking about the future of documentaries. No need to worry as the sports documentary series is coming back. In fact, there is no need to wait any longer as season 2 of Cheer arrives on Netflix next week. Here’s what we know about Cheer Season 2

Netflix’s Cheer Season 2 Release Date

The second season of Cheer arrives on Netflix on Wednesday, January 12, 2022.

Cheer Season 2: Cast and Characters

Several prominent members from season 1 are back. Monica Aldam returns as a cheerleading coach at Navarro College. Internet sensation and YouTuber Garby Butler are back. She is one of the famous cheerleaders in the world. Navarro College top cheerleader and TV star Lexi Brumback also appears in the second installment. Teammates La’Darius Marshall and Morgan Simianer will once again be joined.

The new season 2 introduces several new cast members, including Navarro’s newest inductee Maddy Brum, former child spectacle Cassadee Dunlap and newcomer Gillian Rupert. Season 1 cast member Jerry Harris will also appear in September 2020 with a new season dealing with child pornography allegations against him.

The second season introduces the Trinity Valley Community College team. TVCC coach Ponta Johnson, assistant coach Chris Franklin, leaders Jada Wooten and Jeron Hazelwood, tumblrs DeVonte ‘Dee’ Joseph and Angel Rice join the cast.

Is there a season 2 trailer?

On December 28, 2021, Netflix released the trailer for the second season. Here’s a summary:

“The Emmy-winning blast sensation is back and the stakes are higher than ever. As season 2 kicks off and rumors of a new stardom threaten to change the dynamics of cheering for Navarro, the team has said the press is enthusiastic about the challenges COVID-19 will face when it overturns the 2020 cheering season and serious criminal charges. I found out the truth. Charged to one of the team members. Against that dramatic backdrop, the nine-episode season expands to showcase Navarro’s fiercest rival, Trinity Valley Community College. Like the Navarro team, TVCC has charismatic coaches and breakout stars whose struggles, victories and stories far outweigh Matt. Familiar faces take attractive detours and new contenders make names as the two teams move towards the 2021 Championship in Daytona.”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SafV8n_saA

Cheer Season 2 Synopsis

As the recap explains, Season 2 will see how Navarro Cheer team members cope with stardom following the success of the first season. The upcoming season will see La’Darius Marshall clash with his new assistant coach as Monica Aldama leaves to compete in Dancing with the Stars.

Cheer Season 2 will cover the allegations against Harris, and the brothers who first mention Harris are interviewed in an episode that focuses on the misconduct allegations.

In September 2020, Harris was accused of convincing a minor to send sexually explicit photos and videos of himself, but he denied it.

Manager Greg Whiteley had this to say about the new season: I was exhausted and my heart ached.

“The series covers events that unfolded from January 2020 to April 2021, so the allegations against Jerry Harris are covered in detail in Episode 5. But we felt it was important to inform viewers ahead of time that we were not going to ignore it,” he said. So I acknowledged this at the beginning of the first broadcast.”

How many episodes are there in season 2?

Season 2 consisted of a total of 9 episodes, 3 more than season 1.

With only a few days away from the season 2 premiere, you can watch Cheer Season 1 on Netflix.
