Toni Kroos (born 4 January 1990) is a German professional footballer, who plays as a midfielder at La Liga club Real Madrid. Kroos is primarily a midfielder in the central position, however, he has also been used as a playmaker who is deep-lying in his playing career. Kroos started his senior club career by playing for Bayern Munich, where he made his debut at 17 in 2007. He was not heavily utilized in the first year, and then opted to go on an 18-month loan at the same Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen, where he was a major contributor and then returned to his parent club with a greater image in 2010. In his time at Bayern, Kroos won two consecutive league championships and won a UEFA Champions League title, two DFB-Pokal titles, and was named to the top league team at three different times during the course of the season. In 2014 Kroos signed with Real Madrid in a transfer valued at EUR25 million.
