Skittles is celebrating Pride month by releasing private label packs created by six LGBTQ+ artists in a show of community solidarity.

Traditionally, the confectionery brand has dulled its famous rainbow colors to a monotonous gray in a striking display of shared values, but this year things are a little different with a ‘splash of color’ left in designs to represent how people see the rainbow. ‘

Branded packages, developed in partnership with the Glaad campaign group, bring some color to eye-catching packaging throughout the month as part of an effort to draw attention to the rainbow pride flag.

Skittles had a colorful year in 2013 after launching an ‘apology tour’ for the decision to replace its lemon-flavored dessert with apples. The swap was reversed after more than 130,000 Skittles fans shared their displeasure on social media.

Skittles by Mars Wrigley have been in production since 1979 and over 200m Skittles are produced every day around the world.
