The tragic news of Paul Poloczek was first confirmed by his wife, Katherin DeNev. He gave the heartbreaking news with a touching post he made over the weekend on social media.
DeNev posted a message on Instagram with a black ribbon and a photo of Poloczek on May 28. The post also read, ‘Bodybuilding was your life. You are not forgotten, you live in our hearts. We will love you forever.’
Also, she wrote ‘I love you baby’.
The cause of his death remains a mystery for now.
Who was Paul Poloczek?
Paul Poloczek was originally born in Poland. However, he spent most of his life living in Germany.
Poloczek took up weightlifting after trying his hand at being a football player during his teenage years.
He joined the famous Powerhouse Gym franchise in Germany in 2002. He later became the owner of the gym.
After training as a bodybuilder for a year, the champion got his first win at age 17. He won the Junior Championship bodybuilding competition.
Soon after, he joined various other tournaments and went on to win most of them.
Years later, in 2012, the Polish bodybuilder finished second in the German Championship in the Super Heavyweight division.
He also won the Arnold Classic Amateur tournament held in Ohio, USA in 2017. He got his pro card shortly after.
He leaves behind his partner, Katherin DeNev, and a young daughter.
