Minka Kelly Admits She Was Disturbed By The ‘Euphoria’ Scene [email protected]

In an interview with Vanity Fair, actress Minka Kelly admitted that she was asked to go to n-de on the first day of filming Euphoria. She said she eventually told the show’s screenwriter and director, Sam Levinson, that they needed to change the script.

The scene takes place in the second season of the HBO hit, where Kelly’s character Samantha asks the teenage babysitter Maddy, played by Alexa Demie, to help her unzip her dress.

“Levinson]thought it would be more interesting if my dress fell on the floor,” Kelly said. “This was my first day as a guest on the new show and I didn’t feel comfortable being naked there.”

Fortunately, Levinson was willing to make adjustments for Kelly’s comfort level.

I said, ‘I would love to do this scene, but we can keep my dress. “OK!” seemed to say. He didn’t even hesitate. And he shot a great scene and got exactly what he wanted,” he explained.

Nudity has been a big topic at Euphoria, which mostly features nude bodies in a way that doesn’t further the story. Cassie, one of the show’s main characters, has gone topless several times this season. Sydney Sweeney, the 24-year-old actress who plays him, said in an interview with The Independent last month that many of the n-de scenes were actually softened at her request.

“Sam is great,” Sweeney said. “There were times when Cassie had to be shirtless and I was like, ‘I don’t think it’s really needed here.’ Sam said, ‘Okay, we don’t need that. “I never felt like Sam was forcing me into this or trying to fit a new scene into an HBO show. He didn’t force me when I didn’t want to.”

Chloe Cherry, who plays the new character Faye in Season 2, says in an interview with The Daily Beast that she asked Levinson to change a scene that should have been in the n-n. In the episode, Faye witnesses someone being shot and covered in blood, then is helped by her co-star Tyler Chase into a vent to hide in and plays Faye’s boyfriend Custer.

“Sam wanted to do the scene entirely with me. [email protected] and Tyler was like, ‘That’s too much,’ so they decided not to do it,” Cherry said. “But I was covered in fake blood and it felt so good to be on set.”
