Kai Lukas Havertz (German pronunciation born on June 11, 1999) is a German professional footballer who is an attacking midfielder at Premier League club Chelsea and the German national team.

After graduating from the Bayer Leverkusen’s youth academy the year 2016, Havertz made his debut for the senior team at the same time. When he made the debut Havertz was the team’s youngest ever debutant in the Bundesliga and became the club’s youngest ever goalscorer after scoring his first goal in the following season. Havertz was born in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia. He was raised in Mariadorf, a district within Alsdorf. The family later relocated to Aachen.

Havertz began his career with the Germany national team under 16 on the 11th of November, 2014, he made his debut in the friendly game against Czech Republic before being substituted in the 57th minute to replace Tom Baack. The match ended with a 3-1 victory for Germany.
