Jake Paul’s boxing training partner, Anthony Taylor, doesn’t believe the YouTuber will face Mike Tyson in the future. On the other hand, he believes that a match with Canelo will be “competitive”.
Jake Paul will return to the ring on August 12 after taking a break from his own boxing career to promote the super match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano.
The player, who turned from a YouTuber to a boxer, has not yet named his opponent. But there are a lot of rumors and speculations about who he will face. Former Heavyweight Champion and Boxing Legend ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson has been mentioned as one of the more intriguing names. Especially because the 55-year-old player announced that he would accept the match.
It’s unlikely that Tyson will struggle with fitness until August. The potential for him and Jake to compete in the future was discussed. However, others in Jake’s camp are skeptical.
Jake Paul has silenced all his detractors so far in his boxing career.
Anthony ‘Pretty Boy’ Taylor, one of Jake’s regular sparring partners and someone who fights on the bottom cards for his fights, believes the mutual respect between Jake and ‘Iron’ Mike will prevent that.
“I don’t think Jake Paul and Mike Tyson are going to fight just because they’re good friends.” They have too much mutual respect to get into a fight with each other, Taylor told MyBettingSites. “Maybe I’m missing something, maybe they’re going to fight, but I don’t see Mike walking in with Jake recently and I’d be surprised.”
Alongside Tyson, Cruiserweight believes Jake could be “competitive” with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez in a few years, given the skills he’s already displaying.
Tyson has already expressed interest in fighting Jake because of the potential financial rewards. He’s not sure if the social media sensation can keep him out of trouble during prep for the match.
It will be interesting to watch who Jake will face this summer. If he wins, it will be much more interesting to see his next target.
