By road you can start Char Dham Yatra from Haridwar, Delhi or Dehradun. Haridwar railway station is the nearest railway station to these holy places. Haridwar is connected to Delhi and other major cities through road and rail network. Not only this, you will also get buses for Yamunotri from here.

By road there are Haridwar, Rishikesh, Barkot, Janki Chatti, Yamunotri, Uttarkashi, Harsil, Gangotri, Ghansali, Augustmuni, Govind Ghat and Badrinath.

For this you have to reach Sahastradhara helipad, helicopter service is from Dehradun to Kharsali, which is about 6 kms from Yamunotri temple. After this, helicopter tour can be done from Harsil Helipad to Gangotri Temple. Along with this, the helipads of Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham are also located near the temple.

Best time to visit Char Dham-
The best time to visit Char Dham is considered to be between April to June and September to October. The weather here is very pleasant and comfortable during these months. Apart from this, it is advised to avoid traveling here in the month of monsoon, not only this, due to snow in the winter season, the idols of Kedarnath are kept in Omkareshwar temple of Ukhimath and the idols of Badrinath are kept in Joshimath.

- Apart from this, band-aids and antiseptic ointment should also be carried.
