Harry Edward Kane MBE, born 28 July 1993, is an English professional footballer. He plays as a striker at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and also captains England’s national team. Kane is a well-known striker who is considered one of the greatest in the world. He is also known for his ability to link play and prolific goalscoring.
Kane was born and raised in Waltham Forest in London. He began his career with Tottenham Hotspur in 2009. Kane was 16 years old when he was promoted to the senior squad. Kane did not play for the team at first, but was loaned to several clubs in the English football pyramid including Leyton Orient Millwall, Leicester City and Norwich City. After the appointment of Mauricio pochettino in 2014 as head coach, Kane began to be more involved at Tottenham. Kane was named PFA Young Player-of-the Year in his first season as a full-time player at Tottenham. He scored 31 goals in all competitions and was the Premier League’s second highest goalscorer.
Kane was the league’s top goal scorer in both the 2015-16 season and the 2016-17 season. He helped Tottenham to finish as runners-up in the competition and was awarded the PFA Fans Player of the year award. Kane had his most successful statistical campaign to date, scoring 41 goals in 48 games across all competitions. He also finished second in the UEFA Champions League the next season. He became Tottenham’s second highest all-time goal scorer in official competitions in February 2021. He was the league’s top goal scorer and assist provider for the 2020-21 season.
Kane scored 49 goals in 68 England games. Kane has scored goals at all levels of youth football. He made his senior debut in March 2015, when he was 21 years old. Kane was a part of England’s successful UEFA Euro 2016 qualification and also represented the country at that tournament. Kane was elected the squad’s captain in May 2018, just before the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Kane was the World Cup’s top goal scorer, winning the Golden Boot. Early life
Kane was born to Kim (nee Hogg), and Patrick Kane in Walthamstow. He has one older brother, Charlie. His father is from Galway and he has Irish ancestry. Kane was raised in Chingford and attended Larkswood Primary Academy from 2003 to 2004, then Chingford Foundation School, which was also attended by David Beckham. When he was six years old, he joined Ridgeway Rovers football club. Kane spoke about his family’s involvement in football.
Although the topic is hotly debated in the Kane household, I believe the sporting genes are my Mum’s. Dad won’t like it, but Eric, my Granddad, was a very good footballer and played at a decent standard.
Kane said that most of his family are Spurs fans, and that he grew up just 15 minutes away from the stadium. Kane also stated that he was always going to be an Spurs fan. Former Spurs striker Teddy Sheringham was his childhood idol. He viewed him as a “great finisher” who could score goals and a role model. Personal life
Kane stated in a February 2015 interview that he was with Katie Goodland. Katie is someone Kane has known since childhood. Esquire asked him if he was referring to his relationship with Katie Goodland, who he said, “We went together to school, so she has seen my entire career.” She finds it all a bit crazy. She’s been out with the dogs a few times, I believe. Kane posted on Twitter his engagement announcement to Goodland, July 2017. He also stated that Goodland and Kane were married in June 2019.
Kane and Goodland announced their first child, Ivy Jane Kane on 8 January 2017. On 8 August 2018, Kane and Goodland announced the birth of their second child, Vivienne Jane Kane. Louis Harry Kane was their first child. He was born 29 December 2020.

Football Career
- In 1999, he started his professional career playing for the ‘Ridgeway Rovers’. He then joined the Arsenal youth academy in 2001. He was released after a season and he rejoined the ‘Ridgeway Rovers ‘in 2002. He also tried unsuccessfully with ‘Tottenham Hotspur’.
- He played six weeks for Tottenham during his time at Watford’s Academy before moving on to other clubs.
- He scored three goals in 2008-2009 while playing for the Tottenham Under-16 team in the Bellinzona tournament, Switzerland and Copa Chivas tournament, Mexico. In July 2009, he was awarded a scholarship by the club.
- In July 2010, Tottenham signed a professional contract. On January 7, 2011, Kane was loaned out to Leyton Orient and he stayed with them for the entire 2010-2011 season.
