Halsey calls out to record label for preventing her from releasing new songs
Halsey took to TikTok to address her frustration with her label Astralwerks/Capitol.
The star, who uses both ‘he’ and ‘they’ pronouns, stated that he cannot release new music unless it emulates a viral TikTok moment.
Halsey said the record label would not allow them to release a new song “unless they imitate a viral moment on TikTok”:
“Everything is marketing. and they do that to every artist these days. I just want to stream music man and I deserve better tbh. I’m tired.” https://t.co/RR5qJA1w8A

The artist who wrote ‘I am not a woman, I am God’ on the TikTok video said, ‘Basically there is a song that I love and I want to release it as soon as possible but my record company won’t allow it’ .
‘I’ve been in this industry for eight years and I’ve sold over 165 million records and my record label says I can’t post a viral moment on TikTok if they can’t fake it.’
The caption added, “Everything is marketing and they do that to basically every artist these days.”
While some fans of Halsey immediately voiced their concerns about the star after the clip, many TikTok users are having a hard time taking her word for it.
They think Halsey’s Sunday post is the staged viral moment she’s talking about in her video. They also filed charges for participating in the types of marketing he denounced in his post.
I’m minding my own business on tour to take care of my baby. Four albums deep. On the beach. I’m too determined to confuse something like this for no reason or to resort to it as a marketing tactic but I’m in too deep now so there’s no turning back 🤷🏻♀️

Halsey expressed these criticisms on his Twitter account. He tweeted, ‘I was too determined to stir up something like this for no reason or to refer to it as a marketing ploy but now I’m in too deep, so there’s no going back.’
The Grammy-nominated singer played a piece of her unreleased song in the background in her TikTok video. The official release date of their upcoming song remains unclear.
The viral TikTok clip has already garnered more than 3 million views on the social media platform.
Halsey’s latest album, If I Can’t Have Love I Want Power, peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 charts.
