On May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Rolando Ramos entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, with loaded firearms. He came to school after he fatally killed his grandmother in their home. Before engaging with police and border patrol officers, Ramos opened fire on children and trainers. He was eventually mortally wounded.

Who was Eva Mireles?
Eva Mireles is recognized as one of Ramos’ victims, while the identities of many others are still unknown. According to The Independent, Eva Mireles was a bilingual 4th grade special education teacher for 17 years at the Uvalde Consolidated Independent School District. His aunt, Lydia Martinez Delgado, told reporters in an interview with the New York Times that she gave her life to defend her niece’s children.

According to Robb Elementary School’s website, Eva Mireles was a mom who loved to walk and run. She has just learned to ride a bike, she. According to The Independent, her husband, a police officer from the Uvalde Consolidated School District (UCISD), participated in an active marksman practice in high school two months before the incident.
Locals have told news outlets that Eva Mireles is a kind and beloved member of a small village about 80 miles south of San Antonio, Texas’ second largest city. One of Mireles’ neighbors offered his condolences to The Post in an interview. “He was the kindest person and would take walks and say hi with his lovely dogs.”
