The controversial Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation lawsuit is in its final week. At the final hearing, metadata expert Bryan Neumeister was called to take the stand as a rebuttal witness.

He analyzed several photos of Heard that were presented as evidence to show the alleged bruises. However, he said there is no way to verify them.

The legal team of American actor Depp called digital forensics expert Norbert “Bryan” Neumeister to testify.

Here is everything you need to know.

Who is Norbert “Bryan” Neumeister?

Bryan Neumeister is the CEO of a small forensic firm called USAForensic. Its offices are located in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan and Phoenix, Arizona.

The company has handled more than 600 cases in the past four years. They had worked on cases from the federal level to the state. It also included murder, slander, money laundering and anything taken from a cell phone or computer.

Bryan has received nearly 80 honors and awards for his skill in videography. It also has more than a dozen Emmy awards for editing, sound and more.

The specialist from Grosse Pointe Farms has nearly 42 years of digital industry experience. He also shot 14,700 hours of video in a helicopter.

Did Amber Heard edit the photos presented in court?

Bryan Neumeister confirmed that he used Exchangeable Image File Format (EXIF) data analysis to determine that several photos were not taken from an iPhone, but rather from an editing program.

‘In this case, I can see that the OS says ‘Software: Photos 3.0′ instead of system, which means the photos need to be put together and combined in an editing program.’ said.

Bryan also added that all three files were ‘forensically unmatched’. He mentioned that several photos ‘must go through some kind of transformation to change the dimensions’.

Bryan Neumeister He pointed out that there is no way for any forensic expert to verify these photos. He believes several photos have been altered.

In simple terms, according to Bryan, since the photo they took are screenshots rather than the original image taken directly from an iPhone, which means the data has been altered.

Moreover, for this reason, it is not possible for the expert to determine whether the photographs submitted by Heard have been altered.

In cross-examination last week, Depp’s attorney Camille Vasquez accused Heard of saturating photos to make her bruise appear redder.
