Amber Heard recounted the moment she met Elon Musk at the 2016 Met Gala after her then-husband, Johnny Depp, said he “made me stand up” on the red carpet.

Ms. Heard took the stand in a multimillion-dollar defamation lawsuit in Fairfax, Virginia, on Monday, where she said she had chatted with the Tesla founder at a May 2, 2016, red carpet event in New York.

The Aquaman actor told the court that he and Mr. Depp are planning to go to the Met Gala as Ralph Lauren’s guests.

But the incident came shortly after her 30th birthday, which she said had been “attacked” by her husband.

He claimed that he did not have a phone at the time because Mr Depp had thrown him out the window and therefore could not find out if he would be joining him at the event.

“I wasn’t sure what was going on or when or if it would show up,” he said.

“I had no way of knowing,” he added.

Ms. Heard told the court that she had walked the red carpet alone and “sat next to a vacant spot for Johnny” after she effectively stood me up on the carpet.

While walking alone on the red carpet, he said he met Mr. Musk, whom he describes as a “gentleman” and said he was with his mother at the event.

“I was just standing in line in front of a gentleman. It was Elon,” he said.

“I didn’t recognize him at first. We started talking and he reminded me that we had met before.”

Ms. Heard said they developed a friendship after that meeting.

“He looked like a real gentleman. She was really beautiful,” he said.

“He sat at a nearby table and we talked that night and eventually became friends.”

Ms Heard was then asked about the testimony of her former nurse, Erin Falati, and she said the address “reported her using illegal drugs, mushrooms and MDMA at home with a high-profile male acquaintance on 5.9/2016”.

Ms. Falati said Ms. Heard said her husband was “unaware of any male visitor or illegal drug use”.

Ms. Heard denied that she did not believe Falati’s statements, even in Los Angeles at the time.

Ms. Heard and Mr. Musk are believed to have dated between 2016 and 2018, and the SpaceX boss is on the witness list for the trial.

During the keynote speeches, Ms. Heard’s lawyers said Mr Depp was “obsessed” with Mr Musk.

The ex-wives’ manager, Christian Carino, had previously stated at the hearing that Ms. Heard dated at about the same time that Mr. Musk and her husband were trying to reconcile.

Ms Heard took the stand for a third day of testimony on Monday, as the trial continued after a week’s hiatus.

Mr Depp is suing his ex-wife for libel over a 2018 article she wrote. Washington post where he described himself as “a public figure representing domestic abuse”.

This Pirates of the Caribbean The actor’s name is not mentioned in the article titled “I opposed sexual violence and inflicted the wrath of our culture.” This needs to change,” he said.

But Mr. Depp claims that this falsely implies that he is a domestic abuser – something he vehemently denies – and that this has caused him to struggle for a role in Hollywood. He’s suing for $50 million.

Ms. Heard is filing a $100 million counterclaim, accusing Mr Depp of orchestrating a “smear campaign” against her and describing her case as a continuation of “abuse and harassment”.

The trial began on April 11, with testimonies exploding in the courtroom in Fairfax, Virginia.
