Mike Johnson (born 1965) is a American musician, singer-songwriter-producer and bass guitar. The place he was raised was Grants Pass, Oregon and was the frontman of the Eugene, Oregon punk band Snakepit from 1984 until their disbandment in 1989. He took over Lou Barlow as bassist in Dinosaur Jr in 1991 and was a member of the band on stage and in its recordings from 1991 until 1998. He briefly got engaged to the Juned’s Leslie Hardy in 1994, and also contributed to both group’s studio albums. He worked alongside Mark Lanegan on his first five solo albums, while playing guitar, producing, and writing music.
The year 1994 was the time he debuted his first solo album “Where Am I”, on Up Records, and he continued his solo career as well as being a part of the groups Queens of the Stone Age and Caustic Resin up until 2006’s “Gone Out of Your Mind” and then he moved from the United States to France along with his spouse.
