Donald Trump was married to Marla Maples for six years before marrying model Melania Trump, née Knauss.

Donald’s fourth child, Tiffany Trump’s mother, Maples was a force in her own right when the couple married in 1993.

But their relationship was messy from the start, and Maples was so invested that if Donald unexpectedly asked the question, he would travel in a wedding dress.

When Maples first met real estate giant Donald Trump in the late 1980s and gossiped about “playboy” Donald Trump, he was still married to his first wife, Ivana.

The couple have been husband and wife since 1977 and have three children together – Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric – but their relationship has been rocky.

Donald’s relationship with Maples, who was only 25 at the time and was a well-known model, was nailed to the coffin of his marriage to Ivana.

Stigmatized as the “other woman”, Maples’ face appeared in the tabloids and newspapers at the time of the high-profile relationship.

“It sucked. They wouldn’t leave my family alone,” he told People in 2016. “I just couldn’t keep up.”

However, Maples was believed to be madly in love with Donald and continued dating him during his divorce from Ivana, which ended in 1992.

Additionally, the tabloids have consistently been concerned with the “will or won’t” dynamic of her relationship with Maples.

Fortunately, Maples was eagerly awaiting a proposal—in fact, she was so desperate to marry Donald that she even traveled in a wedding dress.

According to a Vanity Fair source, Maples wanted to be ready to marry Donald anytime, anywhere in the world.

But Donald may have worked against his whim by getting him to sign a full and strict prenuptial agreement before getting married.

– It stipulated that if the couple broke up – Maples would not receive child support, he would only receive a $1 million payment, and that he would have to sign a nondisclosure agreement if they divorced (spoiler: he was).

Although Maples allegedly wanted better terms and lasted as long as possible, Donald made no concessions and signed on shortly before their wedding.

Maples married Donald in a lavish ceremony in front of 1,000 guests at the Plaza Hotel in New York on December 20, 1993.

The man was fired and Maples and Donald denied the rumors, but parted ways before officially divorcing a year later, in June 1999.

Maples later raised their daughter Tiffany in California, Donald soon found himself with another model, Melania Knauss.
